With over 45 years of experience, Karen Vicks has established herself as one of Philadelphia’s finest actors. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Aftra, and Actors Equity. She has performed for some of Philadelphia's most respected theatres and companies including, Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Delaware Theatre Company, the Lantern Theatre, Act II Playhouse, and Interact Theatre Company among others.

Her craft has taken her all over the country. She has performed everywhere from the DC/Baltimore area to the West Coast. Her lauded performance as Charlayne Woodard in the one-woman show "Pretty Fire" earned her one of her the nomination for the Barrymore Awards in the category of best actress.Karen‘s movie credits include”Loving” “Beloved," “In Her Shoes,” “Ladder 49,” and Bill Duke's daring independent film “Cover.” Karen had a recurring role in HBO's critically acclaimed series “The Wire." and can be seen in episodes of the Comedy Central program "Broad City" and the HBO series "Veep".  Karen also had a recurring role on the AMC TV production “Dispatches From Elsewhere” which features Jason Segel, Sally Field, and Andre Benjamin.

Karen is a graduate of Penn State University's Arts & Architecture Department and is an Adjunct Professor at Arcadia University teaching classes in “Acting in Television and Film”. The love and passion she has for the art she has worked all of her life to realize shines through in every performance. Ascension Galleries was born of a need to share what she has learned with those who share her passion.
